A Lara man faces a murder charge following the alleged stabbing death of another man early on Monday morning.
Emergency services rushed to Patullos Rd just past midnight after receiving a callout and located a man with stab wounds.
Paramedics tried to save the 41-year-old Lara man but he died at the scene.
Officers arrested a 49-year-old Lara man at the scene and Homicide Squad detectives charged him with murder on Monday evening.
Police remanded the man in custody to appear at Geelong Magistrates’ Court for a filing hearing today.
Officers arrested another man, a 45-year-old from Lara, but had since released him from custody, a police spokesperson said.
“Detectives are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident,” the spokesperson said.
