Car strikes 96-year-old

A car reportedly knocked a 96-year-old man to the ground on Sunday, leaving him with a suspected broken hip.

The Queenscliff man was walking along Stevens St, near the Holy Trinity Church, about midday when a car reportedly clipped him, causing him to fall to the roadway.

Paramedics conveyed the nonagenarian to hospital with a suspected broken hip.

Investigators believe the collision was of a minor nature with the driver possibly not being aware that it had happened.

Witnesses have told police that they saw a small orange car in the vicinity at the time of the incident.

Police on Sunday appealed for the driver of the car or any witnesses to phone Crime Stopppers on 1800 333 000 or file a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
