Police arrest man following fire

Police have arrested a man following a house fire at Jan Juc on Saturday night.

Neighbours of the Seaview Rise house notified emergency services of the fire at 9pm.

A vehicle parked in the driveway of the house also caught fire.

Police arrested a 47-year-old man and he was taken to hospital for assessment under police guard.

Investigators plan to interview the man at a later date, according to police.

“No one was injured in the blaze although the house was extensively damaged,” a Victoria Police spokesperson said.

Police urged anyone with information to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
