Man arrested following Thomson death

Police have arrested a man following the death of a woman in Thomson on Sunday night.

Officers attended an address on The Walk just after 9.30pm following reports of an assault.

On arrival they found a woman, who police have yet to formally identify, in a critical condition. CPR was commenced but she died at the scene.

Officers arrested a man at the scene. A Victoria Police spokesperson said the man was “assisting police with their enquiries”.

Police believe the man and the woman knew each other and investigators are not looking for anyone else in relation to the death at this stage, the spokesperson said.

Homicide Squad detectives were at the scene on Sunday night to investigate the incident.
