Police have charged a man after a Thomson mother, four weeks pregnant with her third child, died after she was allegedly assaulted at home on Sunday.
Emergency services attended a house on The Walk just after 9.30pm following reports of an assault.
They found Michelle Norris, 40, in a critical condition and attempted to revive her, but she died at the scene.
Police arrested a 42-year-old Thomson man at the scene and Geelong Family Violence Investigation Unit detectives subsequently charged him with assault and other offences.
He was scheduled to appear at Geelong Magistrates Court on Monday evening, according to Victoria Police.
The parties involved in the incident were known to each other, a Victoria Police spokesperson said.
