Another head for body after axing

A new boss will run Bellarine Bayside Committee of Management from January after the area’s MP sacked its previous committee last February.
John Nankervis would bring a background in park management and town planning to the foreshore management body, said chair Diane James.
Mr Nankervis was a senior manager at Parks Victoria for more than 25 years and “more recently” was City of Whittlesea’s sustainability manager, she said.
“John’s excellent interpersonal and community engagement skills, coupled with his extensive experience in public sector land and business management, made him an outstanding candidate in a very strong field of applicants.
“His skills and experience focus on environmental management, the design and delivery of visitor services, asset management, commercial business management, the development of business plans and master plans, as well as park service program design and delivery.
“He is well equipped to add considerable value to our hard working team.”
Environment Minister and Bellarine MP Lisa Neville sacked the previous committee over community concerns about a “lack of engagement” and “the management of the foreshore”.
The committee manages foreshore reserves from Portarlington to St Leonards.
