Library-heritage centre takes shape over Johnstone Park

GEELONG’S new library/heritage centre cum art gallery is taking shape in rapidly in Johnstone Park as this image shows.

The nine-storey structure, valued at $45 million, is filling with distinctive hexagonal panels across its semi-dome structure.

Building and fit out is expected to run to late next year. When complete, the centre will provide access to information through a printed collections and via the latest multi-media platforms.

Its first floor will feature as a display space for the Geelong Gallery and the facility will also serve as a community hub.
