Workmates a cut above in fundraiser

SEVEN Geelong men who sprouted a variety of facial hair styles over 100 days have raised a combined $50,000 for Leukemia Foundation.
The Wharf Shed workmates finally shaved off their sideburns, beards and moustaches last week for the culmination of the foundation’s annual World’s Greatest Shave fundraiser.
Their boss, Peter Temple, praised the group.
“It’s good to have so many young people coming to work trying hard not only to make money for themselves but to make some money for charity, too,” he said.
“It got them thinking about the world outside their own sphere.”
The Leukaemia Foundation said participants from the Geelong raised a total $251,000 for World’s Greatest Shave last year.
