A single-vehicle crash has left one person dead and another critically injured early this morning (5 August) in North Geelong.
Investigators believe a silver Holden sedan was travelling north-west on Ballarat Road when it crossed over the oncoming lanes and struck a power pole, near Kendall Close, at about 1.05am.
The driver, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.
The passenger of the car was been airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash and urge anyone who witnessed it, or who has further information, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
