A group of Geelong mums and their babes celebrated World Breastfeeding Week at Western Heights Uniting Church yesterday (Thursday).
Australian Breastfeeding Association (ABA) Geelong group leader Kate Heffer encouraged new local mums to check out the group.
“It’s all about giving them confidence in their breastfeeding,” she said.
“This is a place where you can find other mums who just trying to do the best for their kids – we’re a very supportive group.”
The group discussed how local venues could be “breastfeeding friendly” and measures that would make local mums feel freer to feed their babies, Ms Heffer said.
The group will host a family picnic at Johnstone Park from noon on Sunday.
