Playing the part

THERE’S nothing more enjoyable than dressing up for a party or a special event and with more than 1000 costumes for hire in sizes from XXSmall to Plus, Queen of Hearts Costume Hire can help make that occasion even better.
Owner Lora Skracic, who has a degree in fashion design and a long career in retail said at Queen Of Hearts Costume Hire the focus was firmly on providing high quality, clean costumes that suited everyone’s budget.
The business, open four years in February, stocks more than 1000 costumes as well as selling a wide range of accessories including coloured contact lenses, special effect make-up, stockings, facepaints and even eyelashes.
“We offer the widest range in sizes, no booking fee and only require a half-value security bond,” she said.
“At Queen of Hearts Costume Hire we wash our costumes ourselves after each and every single use.
“We also have a website where people can view all our 1000-plus costumes and buy our products.
“We have a wonderful friendly team, Lora, Vesna and Jayne, who exude bubbly personalities and will make you feel like one of their own and get you excited about your party.”
She said October was often a busy month with plenty of dress-up events including Halloween, Oktoberfest, Year 12 celebration day, Geelong Cup and the Melbourne Zombie Shuffle.
We are offering Year 12 students $5 off each costume $50 or over for their celebration day. We also offer free bookings and only a half value security bond.
It’s all part of giving back to the community, something Lora feels strongly about. During September she raised more than $600 through a make-up challenge that saw her dress up in costume every day and then apply her own character make-up.
Find Queens of Hearts Costume Hire at 2/29 Milton Street, Bell Park Geelong, phone (03) 5272 2224. They are open Tuesday and Thursday 10am to 5.30pm, Wednesday 10am to 5pm, Friday 10am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 3pm (closed Sunday and Monday) or check them out online at queenofheartscostumehire.com.
