Murrell Group goes the extra mile

For 56 years, Murrell Group has been providing excellent transport options and outstanding customer service to people wanting to get to the airport, take a winery or brewery tour or attend corporate events.

An extensive fleet of limousines, as well as charter buses, take people where they want to go and, as managing director Tim Murrell puts it, “We pride ourselves on going the “extra mile” to ensure that our wide variety of clients have an excellent transport experience no matter who they are or how they might be travelling with us.”

Tim and his crew are excited about their packages for half and full-day tours in regional Victoria.

“We’re all trying to get the local tourism industry going again in towns like Daylesford and Apollo Bay. The packages have been very well received so far and offer excellent value for anyone wanting to get out of the house in a COVID-safe way.”

The Murrell Group also offers container storage, along with truck parking and standalone hard-stand yards for lease at its industrial complex in North Geelong.

IN THE BEGINNING

The business was launched by Tim’s late grandfather Gordon before his late father Daryl took over the day-to-day management in his early 20s.

Through tireless hard work and determination, Daryl turned Murrell Group into Geelong’s leading provider of transport services. The current office building is named ‘The Daryl Murrell Memorial Offices’ in his honour.

WHAT MAKES THE MURRELL GROUP SPECIAL?

“I think our attitude towards customer service and commitment to treating everyone who comes into contact with our business with the upmost respect and a helpful attitude is very special,” Tim says.

“We’ve been working hard for three generations of our family and take a huge amount of pride in what we do. I think that pride flows through to all the areas in which we operate.

“Our team is absolutely fantastic and second to none in terms of the amount of effort they put into their various roles within our company. I’m extremely fortunate to be able to work with the excellent people we have here.”

LOOKING FORWARD

The Murrell Group has recently acquired Golden Plains Self Storage, a 72-shed facility in Bannockburn offering a wide range of storage solutions to the Golden Plains area.

The business will be rebranded as “Golden Plains Storage by Murrell Group” and undergo a significant revamp on the inside and out as The Murrell Group team build upon what they see as a fantastic part of the local community.

“We’ll be taking over the management of the business at the end of October and I can’t wait to share our specific plans with you all over the next couple of months,” Tim says.

“We’re ready to roll our sleeves up and provide our trademark excellent customer service in this brand new chapter for our proudly family-owned and operated company.

“I’m extremely optimistic and ambitious about growing our business well into the future.”

Murrell Group, 11-15 Douro Street, North Geelong. Opens 9am-5pm Monday-Friday. Inquiries: 5278 9699 or visit www.murrell.com.au
