Romance is in the air

Sandstone Cafe believes Valentine’s Day isn’t the only day of the year that couples should be able to have a romantic evening out.
This Valentine’s Day, the Sandstone team have a special three-course menu for $39 per person from 6pm on 14 February. Bookings are essential for this special occasion.
Owner and renowned local chef Simon Parrott said Sandstone Cafe is the ideal location for a dinner date.
“It’s intimate. Our tables aren’t positioned too close together, so couples have their own space,“ he said.
“It’s not a packed out pub. There are no big screens or pokies. People can actually talk to each other and bond. That’s what it’s all about.“
He said the Valentine’s Day menu is featuring a choice of “individual delights“ of meat, vegetarian or seafood tasting plates.
Couples then have a choice of lamb with pepperonata, Atlantic salmon or chicken cooked with Asian-style vegetables for their main course.
A shared dessert platter of many flavours and textures, including pudding, sorbet and panna cotta will end the night on a sweet note. Tea or coffee is included.
Thursday nights will be Date Night at Sandstone. Couples can order a main course each from the full menu and choose a bottle of local Mt Moriac wine – red or white – all for $60.
