Designed by Australian Open champion golfer, Stuart Appleby, the course will be accessible to the general public in addition to its members every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday with some restricted access times.
The course consists of a driving range as well as a chipping and putting green to practice before and after your round of 9 or 18 holes.
In another first, The Sands will host a moonlight cinema this January, with adult and family tickets available. Viewing dates include Minions on 6 January, Night at the Museum 3 on 8 January and The Castle on 25 January.
Hotel Operations Manager Richard Blackley said a lot of families visit The Sands on Fridays between 5.30pm and 8.30pm to enjoy Summer Beats, with local musicians playing live music in the al fresco dining area.
“It’s a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere,“ Mr Blackley said.
“We’ve recently renovated and fully refurbished our al fresco area which overlooks the golf course.
“We have an al fresco menu with snacks and lighter meals from 12pm and a full restaurant menu available from 6pm with a kids’ menu.”
