Geelong will join a WA hub before facing Collingwood at Optus Stadium for round 7, the AFL has confirmed.
The Cats will play the Magpies at 8.10pm eastern standard time on Friday, July 17.
AFL broadcasting general manager Travis Auld said the league had constructed the round 6 fixture with “an eye on setting up round 7”.
The fixture allowed Geelong, Collingwood, Fremantle and the West Coast Eagles to fly to Perth for the hub while ensuring “key match-ups in every timeslot across the round.”
Geelong will play St Kilda at Marvel Stadium for round 6 on Friday, July 11, the AFL announced yesterday.
