A woman has been shot dead in Whittington just after 9pm on Wednesday.
Police and emergency services were called to Conrad Court where a woman was found with a gunshot wound about 9.20pm.
Paramedics took her to hospital where she died as a result of her injuries.
A man who was present at the residence was assisting police with their enquiries following the incident.
Homicide squad detectives were on scene to investigate throughout the night.
