Teens arrested over alleged police car ramming

A man and a teenage girl have been arrested following an alleged police car ramming, near-miss of a person and a hit-run collision in Moolap on 21 December.

Police attempted to intercept a red 4WD following reports of alleged erratic driving about 9.30am.

It is alleged the 4WD rammed a marked police vehicle on Agena Street in Whittington before driving away.

No-one was injured during the incident.

Shortly after, it’s alleged a road worker on Breakwater Road narrowly missed being struck by the 4WD near the intersection of Barwon Terrace.

It’s alleged the 4WD later drove along Barwon Terrace before colliding with a white sedan head-on and driving away about 10.35am.

A 70-year-old woman who was the driver and sole occupant of the sedan received a minor injury in the collision.

Police on the ground with assistance from the Air Wing, located the man and girl on Breakwater Road, near Gun dog Lane shortly after.

A 19-year-old man of no fixed address and a 14-year-old Whittington girl are currently assisting police with their enquiries.
