Police are investigating a “suspicious” house fire that has broken out in Whittington overnight.
Emergency services responded to reports of a structure fire at a Solar Drive property around 10.40pm on July 20.
A FRV spokesperson said firefighters arrived on the scene within seven minutes of calls to Triple Zero (000) to find a “single storey house well alight”.
“Crews entered the premises to conduct a search and extinguish the fire,” they said.
“The scene was considered safe at 11.24pm (and) there were no occupants at the property at the time of the fire.”
A Victoria Police spokesperson said the fire was being treated as “suspicious” and that investigations were ongoing.
“Firefighters extinguished the fire and there were no reports of injuries,” they said.
“Investigations remain ongoing, anyone with information that could assist police should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
