Fatal collision in Geelong West

Police are currently at the scene of a fatal collision that has claimed the life of a woman in Geelong West this morning.

It is believed a yellow Kia hatch was travelling along Pakington Street when it collided with a bus at the intersection of Autumn Street just after 8am.

The driver of the Kia, a 53-year-old Geelong West woman, died at the scene.

There were a number of passengers on the bus at the time of the collision and no one was injured.

The bus driver is assisting police with their enquiries.

Geelong Highway Patrol are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and are keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage.
