Golden Plains community groups can demonstrate innovative ideas while promoting inclusivity and social connection thanks to the return of a grants program.
Golden Plains Shire Council invited community organisations, sporting clubs and not-for-profit groups to apply for up to $7000 through its Community Strengthening Grants Program.
Mayor Owen Sharkey said applications would be open from August 1 until 2pm on September 1, with the grants allowing groups to deliver important projects, activities and programs across the region.
“I highly encourage eligible groups to contact Council’s Community Grants team and take the opportunity to apply for this funding to support your community initiative,” he said.
“Council recognises the critical role grants play in strengthening our community by supporting local community groups and organisations to deliver worthwhile projects, programs and activities.”
Grants will be awarded across three categories: Environment and Sustainability, Healthy Connected Community and Community Inclusion.
Mr Sharkey said community groups were strongly encouraged to discuss their application with council’s community grants team.
