Search continues for missing boy

A 16-year-old boy who disappeared a day before New Year’s Eve remains missing more than a week later, according to police.

Police released a photo of Hayden McMahon on 31 December after he went missing at Colac the day before.

A police spokesperson confirmed Hayden was still missing on Monday morning.

The 16-year-old was last seen catching a train at Colac with the intent of travelling to South Geelong to meet a relative on 30 December, police said.

Hayden did not arrive at South Geelong and has not been seen since, according to police.

Police and family had concerns for his welfare as his disappearance was out of character.

Investigators released the photo of Hayden in hope someone might recognise him and be able to provide information on his whereabouts.

They urged anyone with information on Hayden or his whereabouts to phone to Geelong Police Station on 5225 3100.
