Wicked pair sold on city centre’s sidewalk sales next week

Melbourne might host the race that stops the nation but central Geelong will also be a winner next Tuesday.
Organisers expect tens of thousands of shoppers to descend on the city after 200-plus traders signed up for this year’s Central Geelong Sidewalk Sales.
“This is central Geelong’s biggest shopping day of the year,” a spokesperson for the sales said.
“It’s the day of the year people flock to central Geelong for a fantastic day out, to snap up a bargain, to enjoy a long lunch and to be entertained.
Last year’s sidewalk sales attracted more than 30,000 shoppers, with Central Geelong Marketing expecting a larger turnout this year.
“Businesses right across Central Geelong will be trading on the street, offering a huge range of special offers and sale items with many more offering in-store specials.”
Central Geelong Marketing has added an extra dash of glamour to this year’s sales, appointing local stage performers Sophie Collins and Josh McGuane as ambassadors.
The pair has been talking up the event as they prepare for leading roles in Footlight Productions’ latest show, Wicked.
Central Geelong Marketing said a sidewalk sales “form guide” was available at centralgeelong.com.au/sidewalksales.
