Health experts on call at Geelong West this Sunday

ALMOST 30 health and wellness experts will be available to meet and ask questions face to face at the Geelong Community Health and Wellness Day Expo at Geelong West Town Hall on Sunday.
Natalie Pickett, chief of event presenting partner at Wellness on Time, said there would be a full-day seminar program as well as exhibits.
The program will cover everything from yoga, wellness, therapies, coaching, training and education, in-home care, travel, self-defence and low cost healthy meals as well as fun family activities all day.
“It is such a great group and an interesting mix of modalities.
“We are really excited about the program that has been created and the support that we’ve been receiving from the local community for the Health and Wellness Day,” Natalie said.
“I find that people know they want to look after their health and wellness but may not be achieving what they would like to from either lack of time or lack of knowledge of what to do.
“Whether you are already including wellness activities in your every day or are just starting out you will find ideas to inspire and people to assist you on your wellness journey.
“Making small changes and finding what works best for you is the best way to achieve results.
“Sunday is the perfect day to get started!” Natalie said.
The seminar program gets underway at 10.30am with Kaz McGlynn from Art ‘Skool talking about the connection between art and healing.
She will be followed at 11am by Ana Nolan who will discuss yoga and why it’s different to other exercises.
At 11.30am chiropractor Dr Nick’s discussion will include a NeuTone demonstration.
At noon Jason from 2&5 Cafe will present a low cost healthy cooking demonstration followed by a talk by Natalie Pickett, CEO of Wellness on Time, discussing how people can integrate wellness into their everyday lives.
The afternoon program continues at 1.30pm with Laugh Your Way to Wellness with Geelong’s own laughter lady.
At 2pm author Bronwyn Hayatt will talk about stress and anxiety management techniques and how to prepare for surgery, while at 2.30pm Nicole Foster will discuss natural skin care and emu oil.
Then last but not least at 3pm Fiona Wise will give a self-defence demonstration.
Throughout the day there will also be the national wool museum’s A Flock of Pom Pom Sheep world record attempt as well as mindful doodling.
And as a door prize giveaway, visitors will be able to win a Lorna Jane Giveaway Pack, a Pendo Pad7, and a signed Cats 2015 team poster.
Doors open from 10am to 4pm at the Geelong West Town Hall, 153 Pakington Street, Geelong West.
