Landcare awards to ‘invaluable’ volunteers

VOLUNTEERS caring for farmland and natural environments have earned awards from the region’s catchment manager.
Corangamite Catchment Management Authority bestowed its 11 annual Landcare awards on 14 groups and individuals.
Member for Western Victoria Simon Ramsay said Landcare volunteers made an “invaluable contribution to the environment”.
“The efforts of those quiet achievers are more than worthy of recognition and I thank them for their dedication and commitment to improving and protecting our environment,” he said.
“Landcare would not be the same without them.”
Individual, joint and group award recipients were: Simon Cook; Craig and Tanya Davis; Ammie Jackson; Mandy Coulson; Birregurra Primary School Landcare Champion Club; Moorabool Catchment Landcare Group; Woady Yaloak Catchment Group; Bellarine Catchment Group, Swan Bay Environment Association and Borough of Queenscliffe; Barwon Water; Roger Hardley and Geoff McFarlane.
