Time for school holiday smile

With the school holidays fast approaching, it is very easy to be a bit more relaxed and fall behind in oral health routines.
It is also not uncommon to see increased snacking on unhealthy food and drinks during the holidays.
However, the school holidays may also be the ideal time to schedule routine dental visits.
A few simple tips to staying focussed on dental health include:
· Reinforce brushing for two minutes twice a day followed by flossing.
· Stack pantry and fridge with healthy snacks. Take time to teach kids about the damage that sugary drinks and sweets can do to their teeth.
· Wear a mouthguard as part of any contact sport.
· Schedule preventive dental visits.
The good news is that children may be eligible for dental treatment up to $1000 under the Medicare Child Dental Benefit Schedule (CDBS) over a two-year-period.
Staff at Smile Care Dentists proudly support this scheme by bulk billing eligible children between two and 17 years of age.
Those who are unsure about their eligibility can phone 5223 3255 and staff will be able to check.
Children making their first visit will also receive a personalised certificate as a keepsake.
To make it more rewarding for the kids, goodie bags with all the fun stuff are available.
With all this and more, staff at Smile Care Dentists are sure to make children’s dental visits exciting.
Phone now on 5223 3255.
