Involvement is a healthy sign

Barwon Health’s vision is to build healthier lives, which makes us incredibly proud to sponsor the Powercor Geelong Business Excellence Awards’ Health Promoting Workplace category, in recognition of businesses committed to supporting health within their workplace.
As the region’s largest employer, Barwon Health has an important role to play in the Geelong Business Excellence Awards. We believe a happy and healthy workforce is a productive workforce, which is why Barwon Health provides a comprehensive staff health and wellbeing program and why we are now the lead local agency in the Greater Geelong region of the Cancer Council Workplace Achievement Program, a statewide initiative which supports the development of healthy workplace.
The burden of chronic disease is on the rise and while this presents many challenges for us as a major health service, there are also opportunities to partner with health promoting workplaces in initiatives focused on prevention and education. We look forward to celebrating the 2017 award winner and finalist and learning about the exciting initiatives underway within small and large businesses across Geelong.
