Apartments set apart

Devlin Apartments was a finalist in two categories at the Powercor Geelong Business Excellence Awards: Small Business 4-10 Employees and Tourism & Hospitality.
Devlin Apartments is Geelong’s newest 4.5-star accommodation.
Originally constructed in 1926, the Moorabool St site was converted from a disused former Gordon Junior Technical School into 27 luxurious apartments.
The site now provides 37 lettable accommodation facilities featuring three King Spa rooms and seven high-end, motel-style rooms with dual-key functionality.
The ‘Devlin’ is named after Stuart Devlin – the former school’s most notable student – famous for designing Australia’s decimal currency.
By rejuvenating a magnificent building of the region’s history, the company has allowed it to become part of its future.
The business is owned by five individuals- Garry and Cathy Henderson, John and Jenny Kenworthy and Jan Morris. The group has extensive experience in motel ownership and operation. Garry and Cathy are resident managers of the business and control operations to ensure an ongoing, efficient process.
The unique business model provides investors the opportunity to purchase a Devlin apartment and Devlin Management Trust the opportunity to purchase the management rights letting and upkeep of the apartments. This partnership and structure set the company apart from competitors and improves innovation standards in Victoria.
Devlin knows that everyone involved in its business – from owners and management to employees and occupants – all plays a different but equally important role in the continuing success of the company.
The dedication to excellence has won glowing reviews on Trip Advisor, with comments such as, “Beautiful hotel; outstanding management”.
“As a frequent traveller, I have been blown away by the management of the Devlin,” posted Melbourne’s Vanessa R.
“The rooms are impeccably styled; the owners are warm, inviting, helpful and considerate; and the apartments are thoughtfully serviced – you have everything you need.”
