A 60-year-old Jan Juc man has died after crashing into a tree in Bellbrae on Tuesday 17 January.
Police believe a sedan was travelling in a southerly direction on Vickerys Road just after 1.40pm before it left the road to the right and struck a tree.
The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle and died at the scene.
The death brought Victoria’s road toll to 10, up on eight at the same time in 2016.
Two people have already died on local roads this year. On Wednesday 11 January a 26-year-old Whittington man crashed into a tree on Bacchus Marsh Road in Anakie.
Geelong Highway Patrol Sergeant Darren Murphy said police had identified the cause of the Bellbrae crash.
