Festival fun for family

Sunday is set to be a family fun day for all ages to enjoy at Motor City Music Festival.
There will be free rides all day long including dodgem cars and a giant slide. Interactive kids entertainment will play throughout the day, with a fireworks display at 8.45pm as the celebration draws to its end.
All day Sunday, Motor City Music features an action-packed family program in the undercover, weatherproof Hall of Agriculture.
One of the highlights is vocal powerhouse Kristy Jinks who will pay tribute to the upbeat tunes of the colouful pop star Katy Perry and plans to ‘get the party started’ in a separate tribute to rock chick Pink.
BABBA’s tribute to ABBA will transport festival goers back to the good ol’ ’70s with a show full of humour, sensational costumes, Swedish accents and fun-filled dancefloor action.
Dean Ray of X-Factor stardom will also perform live, along with Geelong born and bred rocker Michael Stangel.
A selection of food trucks of delicious tacos, dumplings, pulled beef and vegan options will be available, plus some old favourite carnival treats such as ice cream, donuts and burgers.
And for the first time, families can use the festival as a family camping opportunity.
Family Funday Sunday is on 13 March and kids under 14 can enter free with a ticketed adult, with reduced ticket prices for teenagers aged from 14 to 17.
