SOURCING and selling vintage fashion keeps Genevieve Gorman’s life on track.
The 23-year-old of Newtown is unable to hold down an ordinary job due to chronic fatigue syndrome she has battled for four years.
“It started off as a hobby for when I was having a good day. It could get me out of the house and look for stock but I wasn’t committed to anything,” Ms Gorman said.
“I was studying commerce until it got too much for me. At first I was very bored at home but now this is my focus and it is fantastic.
After realising her passion was becoming a business, Ms Gorman set up a stall at Newcomb’s Mill Markets two years ago.
“I absolutely love it and I do it for fun and whatever money I make is fantastic.”
Ms Gorman will offer five racks of clothes from the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s for sale at vintage fair Frock Up Geelong this Saturday.
“I’m not going in with any expectations. I’ve never done anything like it before.”
