Airborne car hits houses

An airborne car ploughed into three houses in Clifton Springs during a single-car crash Saturday morning.
Police believe the car was travelling along Bay Shore Road when it lost control and struck a house about 7.35am.
The car hit the neighbouring house before coming to rest in the front of a third.
The crash trapped the male driver and single occupant of the car for some time.
Emergency services freed the man and treated him on the scene, before flying him to The Alfred with serious injuries.
The man was in a critical but stable condition in an intensive care unit at The Alfred, a hospital spokesperson said a short time ago.
The crash caused minor damage to the first house and extensively damaged the front of the second house.
No-one was home at any of the houses when the incident occurred.
Geelong Highway Patrol was investigating the crash and was yet to determine the “exact circumstances surrounding” it.
Police urged witnesses to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
