Men overboard
Three men are recovering from injuries after they fell out of a boat as a vehicle towed it along a Moolap road on Saturday night.
Victoria Police said officers charged a 22-year-old Newcomb man with drink driving and conduct endangering life after breath-testing him at the scene.
Osborne deferral
Geelong’s council has deferred a decision on a controversial plan to lease part of North Geelong’s Osborne Park to a developer.
This week’s deferral followed community residents raising concerns that any development could compromise the heritage value of the site, which includes historic Osborne House.
Fire suspicious
Investigators are yet to determine the cause of a suspicious fire at a Hamlyn Heights school late last week, according to Victoria Police.
An arson chemist investigated the site after a passer-by reported the blaze in a portable building at Chaucer St’s Hamlyn Banks Primary School around 9.15pm on 5 April, police said.

Highton will end up in Corio and the federal MP now sitting in Corangamite will become the Member for Cox under proposed electorate changes in the Geelong region.
Australian Electoral Commission’s boundaries shake-up would extend the seat of Corio into southern Geelong, removing suburbs from Corangamite and renaming the electorate after a woman who taught swimming at Queenscliff in the early 1900s.
Walker fall
Emergency crews have rescued a bushwalker with multiple fractures after he fell 10 to 20 metres down a hillside at the You Yangs, according to an SES spokesperson.
The man in his 60s was airlifted to hospital after SES members and paramedics rushed to the scene at Little River’s Flinders Peak on Monday morning, the spokesperson said.

A $1.1 million grant will allow a Geelong hospice to help dying people stay in their homes longer, according to the service’s chair.
The state funding would allow Anam Cara to increase its day hospice program from two days a week to five, said Diana Taylor.

A Geelong high school girl has won an international modelling competition in London, her agency has announced.
Kardinia International College’s Hope Mancer also earned an international contract with her victory at the Worldwide Top Model competition last weekend.
