GEELONG nightlife revellers will have the opportunity to experience one of Australia’s most-sought-after DJs tomorrow night when Ministry of Sound’s Goodwill hits the DJ booth at Home House.
Goodwill, MOS’s highest selling Australian artist, said Geelong could expect something “a bit different” as he aimed to “highlight” the importance of club music.
“Clubs are where it all started, so you’re going to see a DJ perform deeper music there than anywhere else,” he said.
Goodwill, whose real name is William Cate, has mixed countless MOS compilations, mashed the likes of Sneaky Sound System and Axwell and headlined almost every Australian music festival.
As a wayward 16-year-old, Cate left home to spend his days in the care of local Sydney DJs.
Months later he was overriding the likes of DJs Mick Law and Pocket in the popularity stakes. By 18 he was a regular at Sydney’s hottest clubs.
“I always thought I’d do something creative but never thought I’d end up writing music,” Cate said.
Despite earning international recognition, Cate said he still enjoyed the “intimate club experience”.
“Geelong has always been good to me and I’m really looking forward to coming back.”
