Hand shake is set to continue excellent service

After 40 years in the business mechanic Gary Keleman is passing his knowledge and expertise to fellow Mazda enthusiast Shane Lockyer.
Shane purchased Keleman Motors a month ago and is keen to live up to Gary’s excellent reputation.
“I want to keep up his high standard of customer service and attention to detail,” he says.
Shane has almost 20 years’ experience working on a vast range of makes including Mazda, Subaru, Toyota, Volkswagen and Audi.
He did his apprenticeship in Echuca before moving to Ocean Grove in 2006.
“I love the hands-on side of it and fixing things, basically,” he says.
“I get a great amount of satisfaction out of fixing something and bringing it back to life.”
Shane, who lives in Ocean Grove with his wife and seven-month-old boy, says he was very lucky to get the chance to buy a workshop with such a superb reputation.
“I just wanted the challenge of running my own business. I thought I might as well have a go while I’m still young.”
Gary’s been keeping a keen eye on Shane for a month to make sure he’s up to standard.
“Gary has been very good to me,” Shane says.
“He gives me a helping hand, especially with the running of the business.”
And the former owner couldn’t be more impressed so far.
“If you’re passionate about what you do, you’re going to be good at it,” Gary says.
“And Shane is very passionate about his job.”
