Always there for top pet care

PETS are like another member of the family for most people, so keeping them happy and well is just as important.
Golden Plains Vet Practice has a team of veterinarians and nurses that are happy to provide the best possible veterinary care for family pets.
The practice’s patients include dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds and pocket pets.
Founding vets Simon and Alex Pearce have a long association with horses, running Golden Plains Equine which looks after the horses of the district as well as general farm animals.
The practice opened its small animal clinic about 18 months ago with the mission of providing the best possible veterinary care for family pets when it is most needed.
The practice emphasises the importance of desexing for cats, kittens, dogs and puppies.
Pet owners are encouraged to discuss a vaccination program and the benefits of microchipping with the friendly staff.
One area where Golden Plains vets see that owners are often unsure is with a pet’s dental care.
A regular dental check-up for dogs and cats in particular is important.
When pets have smelly breath, go off their food, or go a bit quiet, there can be underlying dental issues.
Owners can be confused because pets will often still eat despite mouth soreness.
It is only in the advanced stages of dental problems that they stop eating.
The staff at Golden Plains Vet Practice are happy to create a treatment plan for pets to ensure they return to full health.
Golden Plains Vet Practice is at 2 Bruce Street, Bannockburn, phone 5281 2226.
