Heads clash over Lyons’ plumage

HAIR APPARENT: Mayoral aspirant Darryn Lyons.

A MAYORAL to-do about the do has erupted over flamboyant candidate Darryn Lyon’s coiffure.
The nightclub boss/ex-paparazzi has alleged discrimination against his signature customised Mohawk amid a social media bunfight between his supporters and detractors.
“I’m gob-smacked at how many have an issue with my hair,” Mr Lyons posted on Facebook.
“I’ve had this style for the last 15 years, it’s nothing new.
“I could change it if needed, no issue. However, I’m sure I would receive many complaints for conforming as an election ploy. I can’t win either way.”
Mr Lyons asked whether criticism of his brightly-coloured plumage was a “form of discrimination”.
“Are you judging because other candidates have a comb-over, are female, judging on any other part of their appearance?” he posted.
“If so, you need to certainly look past all that and the right candidate for you and your city.”
