CRUISE ships will sail back to Geelong this summer, according to Mayor John Mitchell.
Spirit of Adventure and Regatta would dock in the city on December 20 and February 12 respectively, he announced.
Cr Mitchell said the bookings confirmed Geelong was an “appealing destination” for cruise operators.
“We also have promising leads for additional cruise ship visits in 2013 and 2014,” he said.
Two cruise ships visited Geelong last summer, providing a financial windfall for traders.
City Hall has plans to rebuild the city’s Yarra Street Pier for visiting cruises after fire destroyed the structure in 1988.
