Drysdale man dies in Ballarat crash

A DRYSDALE man died following a head-on collision near Ballarat at the weekend.

The 19-year-old was killed after a car travelling north on the Midland Highway near Yendon Number Two Road, Scotsburn, swerved onto the wrong side of the road and collided with an oncoming car just after 10am Sunday.

A witness told Ballarat media he had a near-miss with the car before it colllided with the second car.

The car came “onto the wrong side of the road, hasn’t braked or anything”, the witness told the Ballarat Courier.

The witness said the swerving car hit the car behind his.

Police said the man died at the scene.

A 39-year-old woman was in a serious but stable condition with a broken leg after the crash.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
