‘Silent’ assailant armed with bar assaults worker on Geelong waterfront

A silent assailant apparently on drugs and wielding a metal bar has assaulted a worker on Geelong’s waterfront, according to police.
The unidentified male jumped barriers to confront his victim on 1 April, police alleged on Facebook.
The bar the alleged assailant was carrying had green tape around one end, police posted.
He “allegedly harassed the victim”, the post said.
“(The) victim stated the male was silent for most of the encounter and appeared drug-affected.
“The male then decamped in a fawn-coloured Ford Falcon sedan south on Bellerine Street.”
Police posted an image of a man wanted for questioning over the incident.
“If you have any information regarding this assault or the identity of the person pictured you are requested to contact Senior Constable Richard Peers at the Geelong Police Station on 5225 3100 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
