John and Bob in a Heartbeat

JOHN and Bob are keeping tabs on the vital signs of some of Geelong Hospital’s sickest patients.
The two portable Dash 5000 monitors carry the names of two important volunteers as they roll around the hospital’s cardiac care unit checking heart rhythms, blood pressures and oxygen levels.
Heartbeat Geelong, a charity organisation of former cardiac patients, donated the monitors in memory of past-president John Ellis and former golf day organiser Bob Loader.
Barwon Health cardiology director Professor Sandy Black welcomed the donation.
“The portable monitors are already in use and give us the flexibility to provide a higher level of monitoring to the sicker patients by taking the equipment to the patient.
“This adds greatly to the safety as well as the convenience of patients. We are very appreciate of the hard work done by Heartbeat in support of the unit.”
