Bellissimo fun, food
and functions

Club Italia has been an extraordinary melting pot of entertainment, fun social activities and fabulous catered functions for a very long time. In fact, you could probably say it’s legendary in terms of bringing generous hospitality and authentic Italian cuisine to locals and their visitors who simply love having a great time.

One of those highly enjoyable – and popular – social occasions is the regular Dinner Dance. Leanne Grist from the club says the one held last month gave everyone a swinging time, and there’s another one coming up on March 14.

“A two-course meal is served – deliciously Italian, of course – and entertainment comes from Complesso Pergolese,” says Leanne.

“Another event to look out for is our Mother’s Day lunch on May 6, again with a two-course meal, with Joe and Carmen bringing the entertainment. The cost is just $20 a person.”

Where Club Italia really shines is in its well-organised functions. The club can cater for up to 450 people in the modern space, whether it’s for a wedding, birthday party, or a business function or seminar. Audio and visual equipment is provided, as required, and a great range of menus to suite tastes and budgets is on offer.

Both small and large training sessions are perfectly accommodated in the upstairs rooms which can be divided into spaces to suit.

“Whatever the occasion, we go out of our way to make it one to be remembered. The club’s atmosphere, both inside and out, is perfect for having a great time,” Leanne says.

Club Italia is also home to ballroom dancing. Every Sunday night, from 6-10pm, the dance floor becomes “the friendliest in town”.

“It’s ballroom dancing at its best,” Leanne says. “Latin, modern and new vogue styles are all covered and participants get to literally dance the night away. Our bistro puts on a home-cooked meal (starting from just $10) on Sunday night, too, while the bar stocks all the favourite drinks.”

Every Thursday and Sunday afternoon, indoor social bocce comes to the fore. Bocce, considered the oldest game known to man, is terrific for school recreational and sporting activities. It also proves to be a great way to meet new friends and catch up with old – and it suits all ages and fitness levels.

The pace slows somewhat at noon on Thursdays, when it’s eyes down for bingo. There are prizes to be won and everyone has a chance to socialise in a relaxed, fun way.
