Gongs galore for Geelong law firm

Since its 2018 launch, boutique law firm Fortitude Legal has received significant recognition for outstanding legal service to the community, not least the 2019 Boutique Law Firm of the Year award from the Law Institute of Victoria.

The kudos slated to this team of passionate lawyers – within just two years – is impressive, with two of its co-founders Tom Burgoyne and Katalin Blond racking up plenty.

Tom, who was named Regional Lawyer of the Year in 2018, was also awarded the Rogers Legal Writing Award for his Law Institute Journal article, “Cyclists Beware”.

Published in the prestigious journal in 2018, the article tells the story of the legal fight of Drysdale man, Rory Wilson. The article highlighted an anomaly in the law, and sought justice following Rory’s devastating cycling accident.

Just last week Fortitude Legal was named among Victoria’s leading motor vehicle accident compensation law firms by Doyles Guide with Katalin and Tom both named in the list of leading plaintiff-focused lawyers.”

The winning theme continues, with the firm announced as a finalist in this year’s Geelong Business Excellence Awards.

“Of course we were thrilled to be acknowledged, but we really believe the best commendation for us is to have clients happy with our service and who recommend us to family and friends in need of legal services,” Tom declares.

Fortitude Legal this month also announced the joining of forces with long-standing Geelong personal injuries firm, Petersons Lawyers. This relationship enhances Fortitude’s ability to help even more people from the Geelong region.

Tom and Katalin agree, however, that what remains unchanged is their sole focus on clients, and the personal service and results they deliver to them.

“If you need advice or assistance due to injuries suffered on the road, at work, in public places or institutional abuse, then our team is waiting for your call.”

Fortitude is “open for business” with all COVID-safe protocols in place.
