Geelong has recorded a second active coronavirus case as outbreaks in 10 Melbourne hot spots continue to grow.
Greater Geelong had two active cases as of midnight on Wednesday, with 68 in total since the pandemic began, according to the Department of Health and Human Services.
The increase comes as cases rose by 72 state-wide, bringing the Victorian total to 2303 with 415 cases currently active.
In total 77 new cases were reported, with 13 linked to outbreaks, 37 identified through routine testing and 27 still under investigation.
None of the new cases were detected in returned travellers in hotel quarantine and five were reclassified to bring the total to 72, according the department.
Currently, 20 people are hospital, including four patients in intensive care, and 1866 people have recovered, after contracting coronavirus.
Twenty Victorians have died from COVID-19 so far.
In Victoria 332 confirmed cases of coronavirus have been acquired through unknown transmission.
Of the total 2303 cases, 1958 have occurred in metropolitan Melbourne and 253 in regional Victoria.
Two of the new cases are linked to Al-Taqwa College, a close contact and a teacher, bringing the total of that outbreak to 15.
Five of the new cases are linked to Albanvale Primary School, three students, a teacher and a close contact, bringing the total of that outbreak to 14.
One is linked to the Stamford Plaza outbreak, bringing its total to 32. One is linked to the Wollert outbreak, a close contact of a known case, bringing its total to 15.
One is linked to Springside Primary School, a student who is a close contact of a known case, bringing the total at the school to three.
One is linked a Patterson Lakes/Lysterfield family outbreak, a close contact of a known case, bringing its total to 10.
One is linked to Villa Bambini in Essendon, a close contact of a known case, bringing the total linked to the site to two.
One is linked to a new family outbreak in Roxburgh Park across at least eight households. Investigations in recent days have linked a total of 20 cases to this outbreak.
