A driver has died after crashing into a house at St Leonards, according to police.
Officers and emergency services are “currently on scene”, Victoria Police said in a statement issued shortly after 4pm today.
“It is believed a car travelling along McLeod St has collided into a house at 3.05pm,” the statement said.
“The driver, who is yet to be identified, died at the scene.
“The cause of the collision is not known and the investigation is ongoing.
“McLeod St is closed between Dudley Pde and St Leonards Pde.”
The death is the third road fatality on the Bellarine Peninsula this year following the death of two drivers in a fiery crash near Queenscliff in February.
