New devices help hearing

Centrally located in Geelong’s Yarra Street, Hearing Aid Specialists Geelong has been a family owned practice since 1991.
Owned and staffed by local people, Hearing Aid Specialists Geelong take great pride in helping people to achieve their full hearing potential.
“Over the years hearing devices have become more advanced and are able to provide the wearer with better outcomes in a variety of listening situations,” said Marcel Timmers, of Hearing Aid Specialists Geelong.
“Along with the advancement in technology comes the need to be able to accurately assess the performance of the hearing devices.”
Mr Timmers explained that today’s hearing devices are more sophisticated and are able to cope with a large variety of listening situations. Due to this, it is very important that the devices are not only calibrated to the individuals hearing loss accurately but also take into account the individual’s needs.
“Hearing Aid Specialists Geelong takes the time to understand your needs and work with you to ensure that your devices are not only tuned to your hearing loss but also strive to help you achieve your hearing goals,” Mr Timmers said.
“Utilizing state of the art hearing device analyser like the Aurical Real Ear Analyser, we can accurately assess the performance of your hearing devices while you are actually wearing them.”
Mr Timmers explained that this approach allows him to take into account personal ear characteristic like the shape and size of client’s ear canal and pinna effect.
Hearing Aid Specialists Geelong has set aside limited consultations for a free assessment of hearing device performance. They give an unbiased report on how devices are performing and make recommendations on how clients might achieve their full hearing potential.
