New campus on the coast for Christian College

Boasting a newly built Surf Coast campus, Christian College Geelong focuses on actively engaging all children in programs that stimulates and nurtures their interests, curiosity and skills across a diverse range of learning contexts.
As campus coordinator and prep teacher Debbie Riddle explained, the college’s foundation students are the first students to experience the stunning new facilities and grounds.
“This is the first campus we have built from the ground up,” Debbie said.
“Our goal is to equip our students with self-worth, confidence and competence, as well as to foster within each child an understanding of the dispositions essential to their learning and a genuine joy in the learning experience.”
Students of the new campus are also fortunate enough to have their nature fix well covered with the natural bush surrounds.
“The buildings have been designed in such a way that we are capturing the natural landscape,” Debbie said.
“We are always looking to bring the ‘outside in’ and the ‘inside out’ when we plan our activities.”
Yet, while the rural aspect provides a point of difference, Debbie explained that everything else is in synergy with the broader Christian College structure and philosophies.
“We work hand-in-hand with our junior school campus in Belmont,” she said.
“The educational opportunities are exactly the same. Our students benefit from all of their specialist subjects that are taught by teachers with expertise and experience in Japanese, Art, Technology and Design, Health and Physical Education, Library and Digital Technologies.”
Just a few steps down from the Christian College Butterfield House Kindergarten and Care and before and after-school care (provided by Camp Australia) is also available to support families.
The second and third stage of the building plan – with a key focus on more classrooms and specialist spaces – will commence very soon, with these additional facilities available for student use in 2019.
Enrolments are now open for Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 for 2019.
