Spring has finally arrived and the school holidays are here.
Luckily for parents there’s a whole bunch of great experiences and things to do around the region these school holidays to keep the kids entertained.
Geelong’s hub of all things wool will play host to an array of ‘wacky woolly’ craft activities including Pompom Monsters, Knitted Critters and Wool People.
While there visitors can brush up on their Australian wool history from sheep farming and production through to the processing of fleece into fabric.
Searoad Ferries is holding its first ever Kids High Tea.
Visitors can enjoy a tiered platter of sweet and savoury treats with the kids as they sail the bay on a two-hour voyage.
While munching on these delicious treats they have the chance to spot dolphins, roam the decks and take in the spectacular views across Port Phillip bay.
The brave of heart can explore the darker side of Geelong’s history with a ghost tour at one of Australia’s largest 1800s convict prisons, the Old Geelong Gaol.
Theatrical ghost tours are held every night at the Old Geelong Gaol during the school holidays and might be a good lesson for the kids on why they should not to be naughty.
Spring has sprung and at Jirrahlinga which often means there’s new baby animals vying for attention.
Alternatively kids can get up close and personal with the animals as part of the Junior Ranger Program.
Jirrahlinga cares for injured wildlife and is home to many native Australian animals including koalas, kangaroos, emus and dingoes.
As an added bonus, visitors to some of these locations can be in the draw to win $5000 worth of prizes.
