Mini Maestros was a finalist in two categories at the 2017 Powercor Geelong Business Excellence Awards: Emerging Business – Under 3 Years and Best First Year.
Mini Maestros offers fun, active and educational music classes for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers across Geelong and the Bellarine.
The business’s classes combine music and joyful discovery to encourage confident and happy learners.
Singing, dancing, playing percussion instruments and interacting with puppets combine to create an exciting and engaging class.
As well as introducing musical concepts such as beat, rhythm and dynamics, Mini Maestros’ program develops the whole child by encouraging speech development, listening, social and physical skills.
Mini Maestros Geelong and Bellarine is owned and operated by Kate Rice and Liz Davis.
Commencing classes in March 2014, the business was borne from the pair’s desire to engage in stimulating and rewarding part-time work “while also being able to spend irreplaceable time with our children”, they say.
Mini Maestros aims to create self-reliant, confident and well-rounded learners who are familiar with the classroom experience and prepared for school.
The program is suitable for children aged from six months.
Mini Maestros facilitates nurturing spaces to develop the whole child, celebrating their social, cognitive, physical and emotional breakthroughs.
Growing significantly over the past three years, Kate and Liz’s business has remained true to its goal of fostering the development of children through music.
“We’ve also been able to offer another mum this same opportunity through employment since 2015,” Kate and Liz say.
