Applications are now open for Marcus Oldham’s 2018 Scholarship Program.
Featuring scholarships worth between $5000 and $30,000, the 2018 Program boasts over 30 individual scholarships on offer for students who have enrolled, or who are intending to enrol, in the agriculture, agribusiness and equine management higher education courses at Marcus Oldham in 2018.
Marcus Oldham’s Scholarship co-ordinator, Janet Craigie-McConnell, said the program had been generously supported over the years.
“These scholarships have been made available through the increasing support of corporate and philanthropic organisations, friends and families within the agricultural, agribusiness and horse industries,” Ms Craigie-McConnell said.
“Such support indicates the respect held by these industries, for our education programs that prepare graduates for careers benefitting Australia’s rural industries.”
This year, Marcus Oldham’s Scholarship Program has been further enhanced by three new scholarships; Golden Egg Farms in Western Australia, Te Mania Angus Stud in Victoria, and Wealthcheck in New South Wales, totalling $66,000.
The scholarship program is aimed at providing financial assistance towards the tuition and/or residential fee for the respective course, and is generally available for the first year of study, and, in some cases, for subsequent years.
The scholarships are not necessarily awarded to applicants who have excelled academically at secondary school, but are awarded to applicants who show strong personal qualities, experience and a passion for their chosen industry, be it agriculture or horses.
To find out more, visit Marcus Oldham’s open day on Sunday 13 August, 10am to 2.30pm.
