One of Geelong’s biggest welfare agencies will merge with the city’s peak kindergarten body.
Bethany Community Support and Geelong Kindergarten Association (GKA) will operate as one organisation from early 2017, they announced this week.
GKA would operate with a new brand under the existing Bethany organisational structure, said GKA’s managing director Tina Martin.
The merger decision followed “extensive consultation sessions” with GKA kindergarten committees and the Department of Education and Training, she said.
“The positive response to the original proposal has been overwhelming.
“We knew this was going to be an excellent outcome for both organisations but the support we have received regarding the announcement has been fantastic.”
